Brad thinks that it is hilarious that I have to look at the keyboard when I type, but ah well, I guess I was too involved in Oregon Trail to pay attention in Mrs. Burnett’s 7th grade computer class. Anyhow, I am typing fast enough now so as to get some stuff down before the little sleeping child wakes up. Madeline hasn’t been the best sleeper because of her recurrent ear problem; however, we think that this great ENT has provided a miraculous cure… Claritin. How remarkably ingenious. That is all to be seen in a month or so, but so far, it looks as though the torture and agony that we would all have to go through during a potential ear-tube surgery (mostly because I likely would put everyone through Hades with my anxiety fueled bitchiness) can be skipped all together. Yazzzooooo!
Aside from the night stand full of thermometers, Tylenols, otoscopes, tissues, and bulb syringes… our past few months have been relatively peaceful. Bella finished her inaugural year of school at the tippy top of her Pre-K class with a couple of super close friends to boot. She and CeCe Turley are precious and well…. “very four” together.
We took this photo of the girls on one particularly adventurous day at the zoo with Bella, Cece, and Maddzey. Brad packed us all a picnic basket and we ate at the Panda exhibit, where we always do… peanut butter and jelly, cheetoh puffs, and cake. Hmmm… grown up food. The best was hearing the girls belt out a Miley Cyrus rock song “See You Again” together in the back seat on the way home. Plenty of shrieking and laughing in the car that day. It’s so fun to me that some reason at age four, repeating the word “doodie” is the most hysterical thing ever. Bella, Maddie, and CeCe were lined up in the backseat, with poor Maddie looking confusedly back and forth as each girl shouted “Doodie!” progressively louder and sillier. Neither one was ready to part with the other at the end of the day. There were tears on both parts as Brad and I pulled into the Turley’s driveway. I have a feeling, though, that there will more times like this to come for the two of those silly-heads. And by the way, if you ask CeCe what her dad’s name is… “it’s Mr. Tuuuhrley”. What a sweetheart.
If you haven’t been victim yet of my incessant bragging over the seeming athleticism of my second daughter, let me warn you… skip to the next paragraph if you want to avoid excessive doting on one’s child. Maddster (as Brad has taken to calling her) has aced the advanced placement course of development this month. Sitting up was apparently not enough for her. Sitting turned into dragging, dragging rapidly turned into crawling, crawling led to puling up… and cruising is on it’s way in… Plus, she has expressed lots of interest in her favorite syllable “ba ba ba ba,” which I feel quite certain is her way of trying to make “Bella” her first word. It only turns into a “mamama” sound when she is crying and looking for me to console her. Sweet thing. Little fuzzy head. Wonder if she will be my soccer player. Doesn’t at all matter, as long as she’s happy and healthy.
Bean is about to start singing lessons based on her immense love for it. At any given moment, she is either making up songs about what she is doing “and i’m four years old and looking out the window…” or belting out a few old faves, like HSM (High School Musical, like duh times twenty). Cant wait to see what Madeline will like to do. I have a feeling she will be a little different, but definitely want to do exactly what her sister does.
I need to wrap up here. it’s late and i need sleep. I’ll close with this… Bradley is turning thirty and I am knee deep in planning his “around the world” party. You all – be there or be square.
